Daniel Shuter, LSW
Daniel is a trauma-informed, person-centered therapist who ensures the space where he welcomes his clients is their space, not his own; he cherishes his clients' safety and privacy. Through his inviting, warm, and understanding nature, Daniel emanates a culture of trust. He ensures that the therapeutic journey with his clients will be shoulder to shoulder.
Daniel has extensive knowledge about the disease of addiction, the impact of addiction on family members and friends, chronic relapse, and alternative treatment options like twelve step programs. Daniel will ensure all of his clients have access to and are aware of community recovery resources.
In addition to his specialty in substance abuse, Daniel has extensive experience working with individuals who struggle with cross and process addictions, co-dependency, anxiety & depression, personality disorders, and strained relationships. He utilizes CBT, DBT, and acceptance and mindfulness-based clinical interventions to help clients master their thoughts, emotions, and actions, empowering clients to take the efforts necessary to see healing and change in their lives.
Daniel has worked in various settings including therapeutic day schools, high schools, outpatient clinics, and intensive outpatient treatment centers. He earned his Masters in Social Work from Loyola University.
