Rebecca Ebben

Rebecca Ebben utilizes both talk therapy and art therapy to assist clients in building insight into thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and developing skills to cope with difficult life stressors. Rebecca's therapeutic style draws on DBT and ACT modalities and is informed by the belief that practicing kindness and self-compassion does not contradict with personal growth and self-improvement. Rebecca views the client as the expert in their own life when identifying areas to work on and setting goals, and sees herself as a "fellow traveler" who, through non-judgemental collaboration and support, can help guide clients towards living a life that feels in line with their personal values.

Rebecca has a background in the visual arts and received a Master's in both Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University in 2019. Rebecca believes that, like talk therapy, art making can be beneficial to anyone who is open to the process. Rebecca uses art as an additional tool to teach distress tolerance skills and explore emotions that may be difficult to access with words alone. She has extensive experience as a counselor and art therapist in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, as well as a background in treating substance use disorders from a harm reductionist standpoint. She is also passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and providing access to quality care for LGBTQ+ specific issues.
